Bank Muamalat Facilitates Payment of Indonesian Hajj Dam

Jakarta, September 6, 2018 - PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk. ("Bank Muamalat") cooperates with Al-Rajhi Bank Malaysia (ARBM) in terms of remittance from and to Saudi Arabia. One feature is a damm payment for Indonesian pilgrims.

Bank Muamalat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Achmad K. Permana said, through this collaboration pilgrims could pay the damm before leaving for the Holy Land through the facilities provided by Bank Muamalat. For the initial stage, this facility can be used by special pilgrims through the intermediaries of special Hajj organizers or special Hajj travels.

"Bank Muamalat is the first bank to facilitate damm payment for Indonesian asala pilgrims before arriving in the Holy Land. We hope that this service will make it easier for pilgrims to be more solemn in worship, "he said.

The signing of the memorandum of understanding "Saudi Arabia Riyal (SAR) Remittance and Hajj & Umrah Payment Solutions" between Bank Muamalat and Al-Rajhi Bank Malaysia was held on Wednesday, 5 September 2018 in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Al-Rajhi Bank Malaysia is the correspondent of Al-Rajhi Saudi Arabia.

Al-Rajhi provides a payment channel in collaboration with ADAHI as the manager and distributor of sacrificial meat from damm payment. ADAHI has been managed by the Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB) since 1983 and cooperates with Saudi authorities.

Bank Muamalat has collaborated with more than 4 associations and 157 Special Hajj / Travel Organizers as a target market in this damm payment.
