With the issuance of Law No.27 Year 2022 on Personal Data Protection (“PDP Law”), PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk (“Bank Muamalat”) fully aware that Personal Data (privacy) is the most important asset for you. Therefore, in order to implement the PDP Law and improve services you especially related to Personal Data Protection in using Islamic Banking Products and/or services, Bank Muamalat is committed to protect and maintain information / data regarding individuals who are identified or can be identified separately or combined with other information either directly or indirectly through electronic or non-electronic systems in accordance with the PDP Law and applicable laws and regulations.
The commitment of Personal Data Protection (Privacy) is regulated and determined by Bank Muamalat through this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is used as a standard in processing your Personal Data while take into account the principles of processing Personal Data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Scope of Personal Data
Personal Data is any information that relates to an identifiable individual or in combination with other information either directly or indirectly through electronic or non-electronic systems. Personal Data Collected by Bank Muamalat in related with our products and services, including specific Personal Data or General Personal Data.

Legality of Processing
Processing of Personal Data will be carried out to the extent that Bank Muamalat has fulfilled one or more of the following processing bases:
- Bank Muamalat has obtained explicit valid consent from you to carry out 1 (one) or several specific purposes that have been conveyed by Bank Muamalat to you;
- Bank Muamalat exercises it Rights and Obligations under the agreement with you;
- Bank Muamalat needs to exercise authority or fulfil obligations based on laws and regulations / orders of authorized agencies;
- Bank Muamalat needs to fulfil your interests;
- Bank Muamalat needs to carry out tasks due to public interest and/or public services;
- Bank Muamalat needs to fulfil other legitimate interests, while maintaining a balance between Bank Muamalat’s interests and your rights.
Purpose of Bank Muamalat Processing Personal Data (How Bank Muamalat Use Your Information)

a. Provision of Bank Muamalat banking products and/or services for customer; b. To implement the Know Your Customer (KYC) principle; c. To carry out Customer Due Diligent (CDD) Principles in accordance with applicable regulations; d. To Provide personalized banking products and/or services that Bank Muamalat provides to you; e. To comply with applicable regulations including but not limited to Anti Money Laundering, Prevention of Financing of Terrorism, and Prevention of Financing of Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction (AML-CFT and PPPSPM); f. Resolve any issues related to your access to Bank Muamalat’s banking products and / or services; g. Following up on any complaints about Bank Muamalat’s banking products and / or services or other parties associated with Bank Muamalat; h. Evaluating, Improving, and/or updating features of Bank Muamalat banking products and/or services; i. Advertising/promoting and marketing offers for Banking Products and / or services of Bank Muamalat or other parties in collaboration with Bank Muamalat and the implementation of Loyalty Programs in the form of Drawings, Gifts, and other; j. Other purposes to the extent permitted or required by applicable law.
- We may record and track your interactions with Bank Muamalat, including through applications, websites, phone calls, electronic and non-electronic mail, face-to-face meeting, and/or other types of media communication. Bank Muamalat may use these records to examine your instructions to use, asses, analyse and improve our services, train Bank Muamalat Employees, manage risk or for other purposes.
- Bank Muamalat may collect your photos, videos, or voice recordings, through surveillance cameras/ Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) including but not limited in and around our offices, as well as around our ATM machines for security purposes.
- Bank Muamalat uses “cookies” or other similar technology from time to time to enable Bank Muamalat or third parties to collect information on how you use our platforms including user preference and recording information enhance more personalized service to you. “Cookies” are small files (text) that websites can send to your web browser that store certain information on your system. You can adjust the settings on your browser so that you will be notified when you receive “cookies”. You can disable “cookies” at any time through settings on your browser. However, by disabling cookies, you may not be able to use certain functions or access certain parts of our website.
- Bank Muamalat uses your Personal Data to personalize and enhance Bank Muamalat’s Products and services to you, hence you will be notified of events and promotional offers of Products and services that suitable for you. You may notify Bank Muamalat at any time if you do not wish to receive such promotional information through the nearest Bank Muamalat office Branch.
Control and Transfer of Personal Data
In processing your Personal Data, Bank Muamalat may involve third parties as joint Personal Data Controllers and/or Personal Data Processors in order to carry out the processing of your Personal Data either inside and/or outside Indonesia. In such case, Bank Muamalat will protect your Personal Data in accordance with the laws and regulations.
If Bank Muamalat transfers your Personal Data outside Indonesia, Bank Muamalat must ensure according to the laws and regulations that designated country has a level of Personal Data Protection that is equivalent (or higher) than the Personal Data Protection in Indonesia.

Rights of Personal Data Subjects
Bank Muamalat is always committed to fulfil your rights as Personal Data Subject to obtain information about your Personal Data that has been collected and processed by Bank Muamalat. You may request Bank Muamalat to correct, complete, update, or delete your Personal Data that is under the control of Bank Muamalat while taking into account the applicable regulations. However, Bank Muamalat may refuse your request, if it permitted under applicable law or your request is contrary to the interests of applicable law.

1. Rights to Information and Access
You have the right to obtain information related to the the identity of the party requesting your Personal Data, basis of legal interest, purpose of the request, and access to a copy of your Personal Data. Bank Muamalat will provide access to such information through official means such as Bank Muamalat Service Office or other channels, in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations and Bank Muamalat policies.
2. Rights to Data Correction
You have the right to complete, update and/or correct any incorrect or inaccurate Personal Data.
3. The right to obtain, use and/or transmit Personal Data to other parties
You have the right to obtain, utilize, or provide your Personal Data held by Bank Muamalat to other Personal Data Controllers, as long as the communication system used by Bank Muamalat and the third party is secure.
4. Right to end Processing, Erase and/or destruct Personal Data
You have the right to terminate the processing, deletion and/or destroy Your Personal Data. You agree to give Bank Muamalat time to process the termination of processing, deletion and/or destruction of your Personal Data to the extent required by Bank Muamalat. To exercise the right to terminate the processinsg, deletion and/or destruction of your Personal Data, you may contact Bank Muamalat through the means of communication listed in Privacy Policy.
Be aware that termination of processing, deletion and/or destruction of such Personal Data may affect Bank Muamalat’s ability to provide products, services and services to you and the contractual relationship that has been established between Bank Muamalat and you or between Bank Muamalat and other third parties, this may result in the termination of the services you receive and/or the termination of one or more of ypur agreement with Bank Muamalat.

d. | The interests of supervision of the financial services sector, monetary, payment systems, and financial system stability carried out in the context of state administration. |
5. Right to withdraw consent
You have the right to withdraw the consent of processing of Personal data that you have provided to Bank Muamalat, and you agree to provide Bank Muamalat with additional time to process the termination of the processing of your Personal Data required by Bank Muamalat. To exercise the right to withdraw consent, you may contact Bank Muamalat through the means of communication listed in this Privacy Policy.
You should understand that the withdrawal of such consent may affect Bank Muamalat’s ability to provide products, services and services to you and manage the contractual relationship that has been made by Bank Muamalat with you or between Bank Muamalat and other third parties including may result in the cessation of the services you receive and/or the termination of one or more of your agreements with Bank Muamalat and/or breach of one or more of your obligations under the agreement with Bank Muamalat.

You have to the right to object to the results of automated processing of your Personal Data that has legal consequences or has a significant impact on you, including profiling and/or credit scoring.
7. Right to suspend and restrict processing
You have the right to suspend and restrict the processing of your Personal Data in proportion to the purposes for which your Personal Data is processed. For the exercise of this right, you may contact Bank Muamalat through the means of communication listed in this Privacy Policy.
You should understand that such requests for processing delays and restrictions may affect Bank Muamalat’s ability to provide products, service and services to you, as well as the contractual relationship that has been established between Bank Muamalat and you or between Bank Muamalat and other third parties including may result in the termination of the services you receive and/or the termination of one or more of your obligations under your agreement with Bank Muamalat.
