Bank Muamalat Collaborate With Untirta to Growth CASA

 

Jakarta, 9 January 2020 - PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk. continue to spur the growth of low-cost fund portfolio (CASA) through cooperation with a number of leading agencies. One of them is by cooperating with Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa State University (Untirta) Serang, Banten.

The signing ceremony for the collaboration between Bank Muamalat and Untirta was held at Muamalat Tower, South Jakarta on Monday, January 6, 2020. Bank Muamalat was represented by Director of Retail Business Bank Muamalat Purnomo B. Soetadi and Untirta were represented by Rector Dr. H Fatah Sulaiman ST MT.

Purnomo said that Untirta had committed to place their funds in the form of demand deposits at Bank Muamalat. For this commitment Bank Muamalat will build a student corner in order to support Untirta to realize the vision of Smart & Green University.

"We hope this collaboration with Untirta is not only limited to the placement of funds. Because there are many things that we can collaborate on such as cash management for tuition fee payment services, lecturer and employee payroll and cooperation in enriching academic insights on Islamic economics, "he said.

In addition, Purnomo is optimistic that cooperation with Untirta can further expand the brand awareness of Muamalat Bank and Islamic banking in general in Banten Province. Moreover, Banten is a province with a majority Muslim population so the potential for the development of Islamic banking there is still wide open.

"Bank Muamalat will focus on the retail and networking segments to the community through cooperation like this is very important in realizing the target," he added.

 

Meanwhile, Fatah said that Untirta was currently in the construction phase of a new campus whose funding was supported by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB). In addition they also have a sharia economics degree program.

 

"God willing, this year we will graduate the first batch of Islamic economics undergraduate programs. Hopefully, after this collaboration in the future we can continue to work even broader, "he said.

 

For information, Muamalat Bank is the first Islamic bank to become Untirta's partner. The largest state campus in Banten is a customer of Bank Muamalat in the Serang Branch. Untirta has 7 faculties of postgraduate programs and 52 study programs.
