Selling Sukuk Via Online, Muamalat Bank is Rewarded by the Ministry of Finance

 

Jakarta, December 19, 2019 - PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk. won the award for the second best Sharia Securities Distribution Partner (SBSN) in the 2019 category of sharia banks from the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia.

This award was received by Head of Wealth Management, E-Business & Priority Segmentation of Bank Muamalat Wang Wardhana in the Ministry of Finance Investor Gathering on Monday, December 16, 2019 in Jakarta.

Bank Muamalat Chief Executive Officer Achmad K. Permana said, his party was very proud of the appreciation given by the government through the Ministry of Finance. According to him, this shows that Bank Muamalat can participate maximally in government programs. He is optimistic that the sale of SBSN or sukuk through Bank Muamalat will increase and reach wider investors thanks to the use of digital technology.

"Currently, the sale of almost all sukuk products has been done online, because offline sales methods such as customers come to the branch and fill out the required forms are no longer done. This method is far more efficient, fast and can be done anytime, "he said.

In giving this award the Ministry of Finance assesses partners for several things, namely sales volume, number of investors, regional distribution and the realization of the targets given previously. The sale of the 006 series Sukuk Savings was conducted by Bank Muamalat in 2019 through an online platform using E-Channel Internet Banking.

Bank Muamalat itself has obtained a permit from the Directorate General of Financing and Risk Management of the Ministry of Finance as the SBSN Distribution Partner with a letter S-916 / PR / 2019. This determination was given because Bank Muamalat had been permitted to conduct SBSN sales transactions in the initial market online.

Currently the media that customers do to buy Sukuk in the primary market online is through Internet Banking Bank Muamalat. In the future, Sukuk online transactions can also be done through other channels that are currently being prepared for development in Muamalat Bank Mobile Banking. The first product sold online by Bank Muamalat is the 006 series Sukuk Savings. For information, Muamalat Bank has sold SBSN since series 002 through series 011 for Retail Sukuk. Whereas Savings Sukuk has been in the 001 series.
