Bank Muamalat and BMM Cooperate with BAZNAS to Develop Balai Ternak in Bogor

Jakarta, 20 February 2019 - PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk. and Baitulmaal Muamalat (BMM) cooperating with the National Zakat Amil Agency (BAZNAS) in developing mustahik economic empowerment programs in the form of Balai Ternak. This program was developed in Cimande Hilir Village, Caringin District, Bogor, West Java.

 

The inauguration ceremony of Balai Ternak was held on Wednesday (20/2) in Cimande Hilir Village and was attended by Bank Muamalat Compliance Director Andri Donny, Head of BMM Collection Division Galeh Pujonegoro, BAZNAS Distribution Supervision Commissioner Nana Mintarti, Bogor Regency Regional Secretary, Drs. Burhanudin, MSi and Komisinoer BAZNAS Bogor Regency, Mr. KH Ubaidillah.

 

Andri said, this program aims to enable beneficiaries to be more independent from the economic side because they are given business capital in the form of livestock. He hopes, this assistance can be utilized to the maximum extent so that the income of mustahik can increase.

 

"If the income of the beneficiaries increases, it means that we as donors contribute to the government's program to reduce poverty," he said.

 

BAZNAS Distribution Supervision Commissioner Nana Mintarti said, Balai Ternak is not just in the form of livestock farming, but also as animal feed centers, livestock auction centers, processing centers, and processing products for by-products.

 

"This program is a collaboration between BAZNAS and Bank Muamalat Indonesia and Baitulmaal Muamalat to improve the welfare and economy of better mustahik," he said.

 

Mustahik are given business capital in the form of livestock. Do not get there, they also get assistance, training, and marketing of livestock. This BAZNAS Livestock Center integrates the concepts of livestock breeding and fattening with community empowerment, especially farmers and small farmers.

 

"With assistance and training, BAZNAS hopes that mustahik will become more independent," he added.

 

     

 

     

 

Nana explained, in the initial stage of developing this program, there were 423 birds with details of 180 female sheep, 18 male sheep, and 225 seedlings managed by 45 family heads. One farmer manages 4 female sheep and 5 sheep.

 

From the target of 180 parents at the end of the second year, it is expected to produce a minimum of 702 children, so that an additional population of 890 consists of 180 early mothers, 18 male and 702 children.

 

The economic impact of the livestock business that is carried out is an increase in farmer income per month of Rp. 1,780,619, -. With the addition of this income, farmers will increase their income from Rp. 2,094,600, - to Rp. 3,875,219, -.

 

When compared with the 2018 National Poverty Line Rp. 1,601,613, the income is higher by 147%. When compared with the Bogor Regency Regency Minimum Wage (UMK) in 2019 Rp. 3,763,405, the income is higher by 2.97%.

 

Whereas when compared with the 2018 National Had Kifayah Rp. 3,011,142, the income is higher by 29%. When compared with Had Kifayah West Java in 2018 Rp. 3,062,298, the income is higher by 27%.

 

During the program, BAZNAS will conduct intensive assistance for a minimum of 2 years. Companion will be a motivator, facilitator, and mediator to increase economic independence, institutional independence, as well as mental and spiritual independence.
