2018-11-12 Driving Financial Literacy, Muamalat's Car Achievements Visit School
Jakarta, 12 November 2018 - PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk. realizing the importance of character building for the nation's children through education. As a form of support, the company conducts social activities through the mobile library program by visiting Kampung Tengah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 13 Madrasah, East Jakarta.
The program called Mobil Prestasi Muamalat (MPM) was held on Monday, November 12, 2018. MPM was carried out in collaboration with Bank Muamalat with PKPU Human Initiative and Baitulmaal Muamalat (BMM).
Awaldi, Director of Operations at Bank Muamalat also attended and taught financial literacy in front of hundreds of students at the school. He said, this activity is one form of Bank Muamalat's concern in the field of education while introducing sharia finance to students from an early age.
"So far, Mobil Prestasi Muamalat has been enthusiastically welcomed by the school and students every time they visit. Since July 2018 until now there have been more than 1200 beneficiaries, "he said.

Besides containing fiction and non-fiction books, this car is also equipped with large screen television, and digital information technology equipment. The facility is to support the concept of audio-visual learning such as story telling and educational videos.
"We will continue the Bank Muamalat social program in the field of education, such as special scholarships for Islamic economic study programs and awards for teachers in disadvantaged areas," he added.
In the future, Bank Muamalat's contribution will continue to be intensified through social programs that are right on target and useful. The focus of the aid program was directed at eight groups that were in accordance with the zakat allocation, namely the destitute, poor, amil, converts, riqab, gharimin, fisabilillah, and ibn sabil.
For information, based on the National Financial Literacy and Inclusion Survey conducted by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in 2016 the Indonesian Islamic Financial Literacy Index was at the level of 8.1%, while the Financial Inclusion Index was at 11.06%. This makes the Islamic finance industry's market share below the 6% level.
