Bank Muamalat's CSR Program is Appreciated by the Development of Small Businesses in Bali

Jakarta, 4 October 2018 - PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk. received appreciation as the winner of the 2018 TOP CSR award in the category of UMKM and Cooperative Coaching Programs. The award ceremony was given on Thursday, 4 October 2018 in Jakarta.

Bank Muamalat was appreciated for its efforts to help small entrepreneurs in Jembrana Regency, Bali. This program called the Social Trust Fund (STF) in collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa in providing capital access facilities to the public. STF is considered in line with the Nawacita program / nine government priority agenda.

Awaldi, Operations Director of Bank Muamalat, said that the company designed the CSR program with the awareness that the company's growth was not only dependent on business aspects. Therefore, in carrying out social programs Bank Muamalat focuses on channeling social assistance in accordance with the company's objectives. For example, in the STF program the company focuses on mustahik economic empowerment in disaster areas, coastal, rural and urban areas, especially marginal areas.

"This is the second time we have received the TOP CSR award. Of course this is a motivation for Bank Muamalat to continue to run CSR programs that are beneficial to society in the future, "he said.

Awaldi added, besides as a sharia banking literacy education to micro entrepreneurs, this program is a form of Bank Muamalat's alignment with small businesses. Business people also have the potential to become new customers and loyal customers of Bank Muamalat.

For information, this community economic empowerment program has been carried out since 2017. The recipients of the funds are mostly women who work, among others, as coconut shell workers, makers of ants sugar, and makers of traditional snacks.
