Bank Muamalat Digital Innovation Receives Prestigious Award

Jakarta, December 9, 2021 - Digital innovation carried out by PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk through the mobile banking application Muamalat Digital Islamic Network (DIN) has received appreciation through several prestigious awards.

On Wednesday, December 8, 2021, the first Islamic bank in Indonesia was awarded an award as a sharia bank with the best digital innovation at the Anugerah Syariah Republika 2021 event which was held virtually.

In his remarks, Bank Muamalat's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Achmad K. Permana said this appreciation is a form of recognition from outsiders for Bank Muamalat which always carries out digital innovation, one of the company's business pillars.

“We seriously prioritize superior innovation to improve service to customers. Hopefully, this award will be a momentum for us to continue to advance Islamic finance in the country," he said.

A day later, Muamalat DIN again received an award in the Top Mobile Application 2021 event organized by media. In this event, the winners are judged based on 3 main aspects, namely installed-based (60%), application-based rating (30%), and user experienced-based (10%). Head of Information Technology Bank Muamalat Marjuki was present at the award presentation which was held virtually.

Muamalat DIN was launched on November 14, 2019, with several updates in terms of user experience and user interface compared to previous applications. Among them are biometric logins where customers can log in to Muamalat DIN using fingerprints, then pay using a quick response code (QR Code) that is connected to Bank Indonesia's QRIS, as well as Smart Account Opening which allows customers to open accounts and verify online before to the branch office for activation.

Muamalat DIN can be downloaded via the Google Play Store for users of the Android operating system and the App Store for users of the iOS operating system. Muamalat DIN can also be used by non-customers of Bank Muamalat because there are Islamic content features such as a Zakat calculator, prayer schedule, and Qibla direction.

Shortly, the Muamalat DIN application will include a self-maintenance feature where customers can unblock access to Muamalat DIN independently, unbind or disconnect the Muamalat DIN access device to make account settings independently.
